Sound of the root

Sound Of The Root

– Out Now –

The album “Sound of the Root” recorded in February 2019 at the Art of June Studio in Germany is the first album in which Teodora Brody brings together the world of classical music with the world of jazz, becoming thus a crossover artist. This album is a fusion of her Romanian roots with Brazilian, Indian, African and jazz beats, which all find an echo in the classical opuses that she interprets, be they Enescu’s Romanian Rhapsodies or Bela Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances. Teodora Brody is accompanied on this album by Calin Grigoriu, a brilliant guitarist with classical training whose style is also influenced by pop, jazz and blues, and Joca Perpignan, a Brazilian percussionist with jazz and Latin influences.

Her music is at times a volcano, and other times a river whose waters are clear and pure and know their own way. It is light and darkness all in one. It is the sound that unites the Sky and the Earth.
